fully coloured noob attempt... obviously the original black and white isnt mine.. i just coloured it. sure was fun doing it.

anyone want to teach me the following?
1. effects. (metallic, glass, transparency, glow)
2. backgrounds.
and after some hints from leonard.. here is the updated attempt at some shading.
and trying a glass effect

trying to explain art to me is like me trying to explain gregorian chants to junhao.
Its not going to happen.
But its quite nice. Personally i think its a tad on the pale side, but the only 'art' i know is kandinsky, and i dont think you want to be early 20th Century, so just ignore what i said
Yeah its nice
i decided to make it pale. can make it darker . but want to learn to put effects for the next version.
Ask Dong
or pick up a photoshop magazine. They can teach you the cool effects.
Basically, to make something metallic, you have to make it sheen. To do so, you need a gradient from one end to other. The gradient has to be subtle as well. Given a 3D model, you need the sheen to be in the same general direction for each surface.
Glass is a little harder.
Glow can be done with the layer effects. Just colour each area using different layers.
Or ask Dong.

like touching up photos and all..
might be worth a pick up..
think its just playing around the system.
