No license cartoons

Alvin pointed out that Kids Central's recent showing of Gundam Seed Destiny is a blatant and utter copy of a Fansub's Version.

This means that the Fansub's english text was copied/lifted in its entirety.
However i am curious over a few things.

Dubbing seems original, (meaning the english voice actors seem of higher standard than local ones. Local dubs include digimon, megaman exe, yugioh *i think*)
this is because the voice actor for Gseed's character with the mask (le creuset) is the same voice actor for the librarian in warhammer 40k the video game.

so.. if they have already "bought" the rights to broadcast the english dub on our tvs, why did they take a fansubs' version of GSD?

It looks obvious that they took the fansub version, why? because on a recent episode of GSD shown here, they blacked out text when the characters were cursing each other when battling over a debris field. If the local editors could make the subs themselves, they would not bother to put in swear words now would it? And if they bought it from overseas, why would the overseas editors put swear words on cartoons meant for kids? (varying standards of censorship aside.. this is another matter altogether) Fansubs more or less try to recreate the meaning of the japanese conversations and expressions, but im sure addition of swear words by them is to accurately depict the mood of the cartoon, like in space battles.


unless of course the fansub Anime One is based locally and is somewhat associated with the cartoon network over here, and hence they took it wholesale for broadcast. (how possible is THAT?)

OR the american side took Anime One's fansub piece for piece and let the kids view the cartoon, swear words included (which means its just here that it got censored) {sounds quite possible} which more or less leaves the "stealing from fansubs" out of the local equation.

but then again, why would american cartoons go through all the effort to hire voice actors only for the customers to be given the option to view the show in original jap voices + fansubs.
appeal to a broader audience?

maybe the local side just bought the voice track and made it in sync with GSD episodes obtained via BT.

so.. assuming the fansub's subtitles are taken word for word.
someone took it from them
either someone locally or someone higher up the supply chain.
